Charles K. Philbrick
Charles grew up in a family of Texas artists. He inherited a painter's eye as both his grandfather and his aunt are renowned for their artwork.
As an avid outdoor adventurer and lover of nature, Charles spends many delightful hours indulging his adventurous spirit while exploring old roads, adventuring on skis or snowboard, hunting, fishing, hiking in the woods, sailing and scuba diving in the sea, backpacking the Rockies or biking across scenic trails or camping in the backwoods year round. Charles always takes his camera along. He captures the first snowfall of the season, the lightening storms, the fall aspens at their peak, the twilight sky, the setting sun, old abandoned cabins and casitas, first light of dawn, the run offs forming cascading waterfalls. Throughout the year there is always a subject just waiting to be photographed and later painted for posterity. The bright blue hues in the skies of New Mexico cast just the right light for painting energetic and enticing scenes.
The idea of capturing the essence of nature or the image came about as Charles saw his photos as painting subject matter and sent some to his artist aunt. She used them and asked for more. Artists can not always venture where Charles goes. Hence, his business developed and grew into his "Artistic Inspirations" which creates painting images for artists to copy, beginning or accomplished painters.
